Welcome to the Voorhees Fire District
Voorhees Fire District provides Fire and Emergency Medical Services to the residents of Voorhees Township, County of Camden, State of New Jersey. Voorhees Township is approximately 11.8 square miles and a population of 29,000 residents. The township is covered by 2 fire station located at (headquarters) 423 Cooper Road, station 663 and 2002 South Burnt Mill Road, station 662. Both stations are equipped for Fire / Rescue / EMS services. Voorhees Fire District has three separate but equally important divisions: Career Firefighters, Volunteer Firefighters and Career EMT'S.
Career Firefighters:
25 full time firefighters and officers, who staff the 2 fire stations and work 600am to 5:00pm Monday thru Friday. They are responsible for all fire calls, ems calls, fire prevention, and day time special assignments and are state certified fire inspectors and inspect all business in Voorhees Township yearly.
Volunteer Firefighters:
There are 39 volunteer firefighters and officers who staff the 2 fire stations from 5:00pm to 6:00am Sunday thru Thursday. On Friday and Saturday nights the crews sleep in station from 6:00pm to 6:00am and respond to all fire calls. They also handle all special assignments such as the township picnic and movie night at Connelly Park and fire prevention activities, Santa Claus detail and many other special assignments. Career EMT'S:
The district employees 8 full time EMT'S and 6 Part Time EMT'S. They staff the department's ambulance Monday thru Friday 5:00pm to 6:00am and work 24 hour shifts on the weekends 6:00am to 6:00am. The department operates with 2 staffed ambulances 24/7.
